Veterans Intellectual Property (VIP), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans, active duty members, and military dependents as they bring their inventive ideas to life, is proud to announce its membership in the LOT Network, a global community of companies committed to protecting innovation from patent assertion entities, or patent trolls.
This partnership underscores VIP’s commitment to safeguarding the intellectual property rights of our veterans. By joining the LOT Network, VIP is taking a significant step to protect our members from the harmful effects of patent trolls, ensuring that their hard-earned innovations are protected.
“We are humbled to stand alongside LOT Network’s esteemed members, including industry leaders such as Google, Amazon, and Microsoft, in this collective effort to foster innovation and protect intellectual property rights,” said Chuck Tyler, CEO at VIP. “We believe that this partnership will not only benefit our veteran inventors but also contribute to a healthier, more equitable patent ecosystem.”
The LOT Network is a non-profit organization that provides its members with a form of mutual protection against patent trolls. When a member company’s patent falls into the hands of a patent troll, all other members automatically receive a license to that patent, protecting them from being sued by the patent troll over that patent.
This partnership aligns with VIP’s mission to provide a platform for veteran inventors to flourish and underscores the organization’s commitment to protecting the intellectual property rights of its members.
